Holy shhhhh-- (watch the video and you'll know what I'm talking about). Yes, Shatner's done it again! No, it's not Rocketman, this time he's tackling an iconic Queen song, Bohemian Rhapsody.

I have to say, this video left me in tears after about the third verse with the sing-along lyrics. So, enjoy yourself. This video is crazy!

Arguably, you could say building a machine to spray art kind of lowers the artistic value of the practice, but I'm always open to creativity in all it's forms. Unless it involves squirrels and any sort of gel. That's just sick and you should just stop. What?

Anyway, this guy made a machine that sprays out calligraphic poetry in water. Kudos to him for doing something no one has done!

Spock Attends His Final Convention

Live long and prosper, Nimoy.

Last weekend, Leonard Nimoy bid his last convention good-bye with a "live long and prosper". At 80 years old, Nimoy has already said he's retired and not going to be in the next Star Trek movie-- which, personally, I am very sad about. Having one of the original cast in the new film made me feel like I wasn't losing the characters/show I loved as a kid (no, I'm not that old. My father just raised me right-- on Star Trek every night before bed well into my tweens. Really.)

Anyway, I hope to see Nimoy walking down the street one of these days. Really, I'm a fan of not only his work in Star Trek, but also his appearances on pretty much anything, from Mission Impossible (because the TV show kicks the movies' ugly, overly-Tom-Cruise-focused butts) to Columbo. Nimoy is one of the finest actors to grace my childhood TV screens, so here's a shout out to him in his retirement-- may he truly live long and prosper.

Trek Vs. Wars: Shatner Lays It Down

Shatner gives a pretty honest (though what I would hardly call unbiased) comparison of Star Wars and Star Trek. Although I am a big fan of both, I side with Shatner completely here. In my opinion, when you really break them down to their core plots, Star Trek is all about exploration (minus DS9...ahem), while Star Wars is all about fighting. They were very aptly named Trek and Wars.

Quite possibly the coolest fan video I have ever seen, Naruto Shippuden: Dreamers Fight deserves the highest geeky praise. While the fighting is what really got me excited, I have to say there were even moments when the characters completely convinced me they were the real Lee and Naruto bruising knuckles and throwing down some serious ninjutsu. Anyway, I thought I'd share this piece of art. This video gave me high hopes of being totally entertained when the Blu-ray comes out, because hell, this is LMFAO hilarious, and I'm sure the millions of youtube comedians out there will continue to crank these out for years to come.

A Piece of History: The First 3D Digital Film

According to Open Culture, this video began what some of us might recognize as modern techniques for creating CG life on the big screen. This film showcases the making of a hand which looks undeniably like a disembodied clip of a 3rd generation Sim performing various hand movements. Considering this is a video from 1972, that's pretty impressive.

Geeks are Sexy posted an article today about a new ground-breaking method of organ transplantation-- keeping the organ (such as a heart) functioning while in transport. Compared to the method of packing the organ in ice in coolers during transit, this will allow for better matching of organs to patients, and therefore less chance rejection.

TODAY: DC Relaunch

Well, if Lumberjack Films say it's going to be okay, then it must be! Then again, that's what people have been saying about Anne Hathaway playing Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, but I still have my doubts. She may look smokin' hot in that one picture, but it's going to take more than a mouthful of drool to win me over. As for this video, they lost my faith when they said Aquaman was going to be cool. Seriously?

WTF Lucas: If it ain't broke, why ruin it?!

So, I'm genuinely mortified by what I've been hearing about the new blu-ray Star Wars Trilogy that's coming out on September 6th. Now, Badass Digest has confirmed that Vader lets out an unbelievably unnecessary and climax-killing "Noooooooo!!" as he picks up the Emperor at the end of Return of the Jedi. Sorry if that was a spoiler for you...but if you've never seen the movie, you really don't deserve to be on planet earth.
