Firefly Needs to Come Back to TV
This is a fun infographic on my personal 2nd favorite sifi TV show, Firefly (as if you couldn't tell by the title and picture). This infographic includes little facts about the show that some of you may not have known I'm looking at you Albert, Angela and Oreo... How a dog can be a "real" fan of anything on TV beats me. Clicky clicky.
Blast to the Future-Past: Coattails and Gigantic Scary Hats
Who doesn't see this view on an average day? (Via Flickr) |
Now that it's 2011, I thought it would be nice to look at the past decade's wonderful inventions and celebrations, such as our individual blimps and world-encompassing coasters that carry us quickly and safely to our destinations. Also, let's not forget those crazy flower festivals where we all get plastered and try to knock eachother off our car-planes with handfuls of petals while dressed as flashy deep-sea divers.

Sign Me Up!
I had always told a good friend of mine that when they day comes, I want him to be a part of my plan to get my robot arm. The plan was this. Take a wall and cut a whole in it. Tie a rope around my arm focusing on the base nearest the shoulder. Tie it to his truck after putting my arm through the hole. FLOOR IT! YEEEEE HAW! Presto, new robot arm. Well that was the plan if I had medical insurance and it needed to look like an "accident."
Of course looking back now maybe ripping my arm out wouldn't be the best idea.
Angry Birds V Tiny Wings
I had always wondered what happened to the birds on Angry Birds if you over shot the screen. Apparently they remain angry.

BF3, SQUIRT!
This might be my most anticipated game since BF:BC2 came out, and the Frostbite 2 engine looks AMAZING!
Video: The Science and Mathematics of Sound
This video by Vi Hart explains sound and it's cool complexity-- while using lots of little text bubbles, making it that much more visually interesting. Plus, you gotta think any woman throwing out mathematics with that cute little voice is pretty sexy.
G+ VS FB
This totally tubular infographic shows the battle between Facebook and Google+. It shows how the 2 social networking companies privacy settings, friends, chat and other features stack up against each other. It is "Bewii Intwisting."

How About Some Meat For Your Lips?
Since the day I received a flying ninja kick to the mouth by a Luchador, I had wanted this. Mostly because the kick split my lip and I ended up putting real spam on it, SOOO MUCH SALT IN SUCH A BIG CUT!

The Cake is a Lie!
This is an awesome short film, I can't wait for some one to make a full length feature film. Watch this in 1080, it is worth it.

Ecstasy May One Day Lead to New Treatment for Blood Cancers
According to BBC News, a modified form of the drug ecstasy (or MDMA) may be able to stop blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma from spreading. Studies have shown that ecstasy kills off cancer cells inside test tubes, however, the doses needed to do so would be fatal. After chemically re-engineering the drug, scientists were able to create the same cancer-killing results with 1g of modified ecstasy vs. the 100g dose of unmodified ecstasy needed in earlier tests-- an amount that which would be much less toxic to the brain.
While these tests are encouraging, they may not have the same effect when taken out of the test tubes. Still, if there's a treatment that results from these experiments somewhere in the future, it's definitely something to get excited about.

Tron Bike for Tiny Geeks
Last week we saw the pimp Light Cycle for big kids, and now it seems the real kids can be badass too! This little bike for tykes is supposed to help kids learn how to master having only two wheels, using a method I assume consists mainly of being awesome. This is just a prototype, but I'm hoping it becomes a reality. Do I have kids? Nah, and even if I did, I'm riding this one seeing as the grown-up version is out of my price range for sure. Not to mention this bike's required skill level seems right up my alley.

Hydrogen Bomb Lost Somewhere in the Atlantic: Expect Mutants in Georgia
Today I Learned Something New shared today that we should all be glad we don't live in Georgia, USA. And for everyone who does live there, you can be excited that maybe, just maybe, you'll be the kind of mutant who will fly and set things on fire mentally.
Star Wars PSA is right on.
Hello everybody! So, Techie G has asked me to join her on this awesome blog. A place to talk about Star Wars, gadgets, programming, design, gaming, hacking, and everything else geeky? HECK YES! How could I say no? So this being my first post, I decided to be a total cliché. I am writing this from a coffee shop. Now on to my actual post.
I came across this on Youtube when looking for Star Wars related videos. I agree with this 100%. For me, when I have children I will show them episodes 4, 5, and 6 first. Followed by 1, 2, and 3 because what was said in video is true, It is the way the films were intended to be viewed.
