GameFly is in Trouble with Qwikster in the Mix!

Many different sites are talking about how Netflix is "splitting up" so they have 1 company that deals with internet streaming and 1 that deals with DVD rental. Who cares? Lets talk about what is on the bottom right corner of that table! A freakin' Xbox controller!

That's right kiddies! Finally we will have a decent game rental spot, well I hope it is decent. The word around the interwebs is Netflix's new side project will be handling the DVD/Blue-Ray/Games. If the monthly pricing for games is the same as Blue-Ray it will cost $9.99 a month for unlimited rentals as long as you only have 1 rental out at a time. If those price rumors are true, GameFly wont stand a chance selling their service for more than double at $22.95 a month. Not a chance!
I read or saw or heard something before about the reason Netflix is so much cheaper than GameFly, the postal system charges less for shipping DVD as apposed to video games. Even though they are on the EXACT same discs. No one knows for sure what game rentals from Netflix will cost.
Ps. This is not a sponsored post.

  1. DVD's are probably cheaper because they qualify for media mail and games do not.

  2. You are 100% correct. I have tried to send games through the mail and gone back the next day actually sent them as a "DVD" for a cheaper price.
